Take the Whole Boat

Ten to thirty guests, every cabin and every deck yours. Built for company trips, family reunions and the occasional wedding.

Charter guests at a Komodo island viewpoint at golden hour

A full-boat charter takes every cabin and every common space for one group, so nobody shares a sundeck with strangers and the itinerary answers to you.

  • Ten to thirty guests across five to fifteen cabins.
  • Crew-to-guest ratios of roughly one to one, or one to two.
  • Three to five days is the usual length for a corporate trip.

Occasions

What people take a whole boat for

Different groups want different things from the same vessel.

Company incentives

Three to five days, everyone aboard, no hotel logistics and no way for the group to fragment in the evening.

Family reunions

Cabins split across decks so generations get their own space, with one dining table that seats all of you.

Weddings and anniversaries

Ten to thirty guests is an intimate list by design. Beach setups and deck ceremonies are both routine.

Dive clubs

A whole boat means the dive schedule is yours — slack water, not a compromise with non-divers.

Milestone birthdays

The vessel is the venue, the catering and the accommodation at once, which removes most of the planning.

Private events

Sundeck, salon and beach are all exclusively yours. Crew handle setup and clearing without an external supplier.

Ashore

Dinner on a beach nobody else is on

The thing a full charter buys that a cabin booking cannot is exclusivity ashore. Crew run a table, lights and a barbecue onto an empty beach and clear it before you are back aboard. It is the part of a group trip people describe afterwards, and it needs the whole boat to be worth doing.

Cost

What a whole boat works out at

Charter rates are quoted per vessel per night, so per-person cost falls as the group fills the cabins. These are published starting rates, divided by the guests the boat actually sleeps.

Deluxe, 16 guests

$1,550–4,700 per night, whole boat

Around USD 97 to 294 per person per night once the cabins are full. The cheapest way to put a large group on one hull.

Best per-head value

VIP, 12–20 guests

$1,800–9,850 per night, whole boat

The broadest tier, and where most group bookings land. Cabin count varies enormously, so the per-person figure does too.

Most common choice

VVIP, 10–18 guests

$3,800–20,000 per night, whole boat

Fewer guests on more boat, crew ratios near one to one, and the space that makes an incentive trip feel like a reward.

Incentive and wedding tier

Rates come from 145 Komodo vessels that publish a starting figure; 40 more quote on request. Per-person numbers are simple division, not a quoted product. Park fees, alcohol, diving and gratuities are extra. Peak dates for large vessels are typically held 6 to 12 months out.

Aboard

Thirty guests needs the right hull

Above about twenty guests the vessel list narrows fast. A fifty-metre phinisi might run ten double cabins with a crew of fifteen to twenty; below forty metres you are usually looking at two boats rather than one. Decide the group size before the vessel, because it removes most of the fleet either way.

Questions

Group charters, answered

What is the maximum group size?

Thirty on a single vessel is the practical ceiling for a private charter, across five to fifteen cabins. Beyond that you are chartering two boats and running them together.

Can I charter for a company trip?

Yes, and three to five days is the usual length. Everyone sleeps aboard, so there is no hotel to coordinate and the group cannot scatter in the evening.

Do groups get a discount?

Not usually as an advertised percentage. The saving is structural: the rate is per vessel per night, so cost per head falls as the cabins fill. Twenty guests on one boat beats twenty cabins bought individually.

Are yachts suitable for weddings?

For ten to thirty guests, yes. Deck ceremonies and beach setups are both routine, and the crew handle catering and clearing without an outside supplier.

How far ahead should we book?

Six to twelve months for peak dates on the larger vessels. There are few boats above twenty guests, so the constraint is the hull rather than the calendar.
